About Neon Noel

Thanks for stopping by our website! My name is Johnny, and I am the founder and owner of Neon Noel.

Bringing Christmas Lights to Tasmania

Christmas in Tasmania is something special — long summer evenings, cool coastal air, and homes glowing with Christmas lights that bring people together and create lasting memories.

Founded in Hobart, Tasmania, Neon Noel was created from a simple love of Christmas and the joy that a well-lit home can bring.

If you're not from Hobart or you're visiting us from mainland Australia, here's a little more about where we came from.

From One Set of Lights to a Nationally Recognised Christmas Display

Our Christmas lighting journey started around 10 years ago when we began decorating our home with Christmas lights as children. What started with just one set of icicle lights gradually grew year after year into what is now known as 'Johnny's Christmas Light Display.'

The display has gone on to win Christmas light competitions and gain national recognition, becoming a much-loved part of the festive season for our community.

Christmas lights have also given us an opportunity to support causes that matter to us. Each year, we raise thousands of dollars for organisations including Hobart City Mission, Cancer Council Tasmania, and the University of Tasmania's Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.

One of our biggest highlights came in 2025, when our Christmas light display was featured on the Today Show.

Why We Created Neon Noel

After years of buying Christmas lights and building our own displays, we noticed something was missing — Tasmania didn't have a dedicated Christmas light store offering the specialty lights and Christmas light motifs we were looking for locally.

So, we decided to do something about it.

Neon Noel was created to make it easier for Tasmanians to find quality Christmas lights, Christmas light motifs and festive decorations without having to look interstate.

From traditional Christmas lights to eye-catching LED light motifs and Tasmanian-themed designs, we're passionate about helping people create displays they can be proud of.

Christmas Lights for Every Display

Whether you're decorating your home for the first time, upgrading an existing Christmas light display, or planning something big and bold, we're here to help.

Our goal is simple:

To make Christmas brighter, easier and more magical for our community.

Thanks for supporting a Tasmanian Christmas business and being part of the Neon Noel journey.
